Explosion Box

So for many years I've seen these explosion boxes and thought - "Yikes that's far too much work for me!"  Well..........it was!  ha ha ha ha!  😀😁😀😁  But the end result is gorgeous!  I won't be making a lot of them but I have to admit, it was fun!  I used Maja's "Summertime" collection and added a ton of Wild Orchid Craft flowers, which you can see a huge selection of in the store.

The is the top of the box to which I've added a few Scrapiniec butterflies.  There are two parts to them so with the first layer I distressed around the edges, glued the delicate second layer and then distressed again.  Here you see some WOC flowers, some pomegranate apples and a wax cord bow.

Ummm....these are hard to take pictures of.  LOL!  So that's why you're getting a whole whack of them!

Ooooooo so this gorgeous Wycinanka "3D Lacey Cake" is what started it all.  Well what else would you do with it except an explosion box?!!  Or course!!!   😀  You can't see it very well but I distressed all the edges before putting it together.  Then I glued on a row of pearls (found the inspiration online but sorry can't remember from who) and added more WOC roses.

Here's another view as it's not the same the whole way around.

This is just to show that I do have another layer underneath.  I left it blank so if I actually decide to give it away one day, I can add photo's of the happy couple or some quotes.

This is Scrapiniec's "Mama's Front Porch" that I've sponged with some TH red ink on the flower hearts and brown for the flower pot.  Here's also another smaller version of the Scrapiniec butterfly that is on top.

These glasses are from an old Joy set that I've had for awhile but they were perfect!  I added a few more flowers and an antique floral bronze heart.

More Scrapiniec for you!  This really is a perfect project for some gorgeous chipboard.  As I'm making this I'm thinking....dang!  I know there are some more pieces coming that I could really use so I held off but the post office didn't cooperate with me.  The nerve right?!!  LOL!  😁

I had some doves in my stash and now I know why!

So there you have my first explosion box!  I wasn't scared off so you may see more.  Thanks for sticking with me through all the photo's and descriptions!  Let me know if you've made any!  I love to see others as now I have a file folder on my computer for idea's.  LOL!

Hugs!

Denim & Friends

I MADE A CAS CARD!  Yes me!!  LOL!!  Ok well this is as CAS as I get.  😀  The new Maja collection "Denim and Friends" are really perfect for masculine cards.  I can't take credit for the wood looking pieces behind the image.  I saw something similar done on the Maja FB page but loved it so much I had to try it!!  I suppose that's what inspiration is all about!  The collection also comes with some great images and sometimes it's nice to have an image ready for a quicker card.

Luvin' these new Scrapiniec chipboard pieces in the store simply called "Stitches".  Yet another awesome item for men's cards.  I painted these with gesso so they would pop a bit more amidst my layers.

Here I have some bark stars painted with gesso and a couple of bows popped on top using the wax cord, which by they way, come in 13 different colors.  YES!!!!  It's true!

I think this must be the least amount of products I've ever used on one of my DT cards.  LOL!!  Oh but I make up for that on my next one.  hee hee  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Hugs,

Theodore & Bella

Pion's "Theodore and Bella" collection was one of the cutest ever!  Just the perfect papers to have on hand for a little kids birthday, a baby card and or just a sweet card for anyone really.  The borders 12 x 12 have the "Love You to the Moon and Back" sentiment and a few other great ones.

Here is my usual bouquet of flowers using a gorgeous pixie bloom, open roses and a glass strawberry.   If you've been following me you'll know those are one of my favorite little additions.  I used some chipboard from Scrapiniec's "Fantasma Frames and Borders" and cut one of the pieces up to use throughout the card.  I even colored them with a TH dauber.

See the straw colored threads underneath?  That's called sisal.  I've never seen or heard of it before but I'm likin' it!   Again some more Scrapiniec chipboard, amazing flowers and a pretty vintage filigree button. Another one of those ones that you just want to hoard.  LOL!

A friend's daughter just had twins so this card is going to her.  Yup that kind of holds a special place in my heart as most of you know that I am one.  😊  It's a boy and a girl and I love when that happens to people.
INSTA-FAMILY!  LOL!

Enjoy your weekend!
