Coffee Card Tutorial

Welcome to my FIRST tutorial!!  I didn't see this idea anywhere but actually just made it up myself.  WOOHOO there's a first!!  LOL!  It's fairly simple to make and an inexpensive way to send a small giftie.  You could also use the juice packs from the grocery store for people who don't drink coffee.

I make my cards 6" x 6" so if you make yours a little smaller adjust accordingly.  In this case I also distressed everything but that's optional.

First piece is 6" x 12".  I scored at 5 7/8" and then at 6 1/8" giving you a 1/4" spine on your card.  This could be made wider if you like because it will stand anyway.

Then you'll need 2 - layering pieces that are 5 3/4" x 5 7/8" and this is layering by 1/8".  I know some of you like 1/2" but once again you can adjust to the way you like it.

This is my sister's card on the inside, which you can see HERE and you'll notice later that they will change to a different background.  I had already taken a step too far when I realized I needed this picture.  LOL!!

I made this piece to go across the right hand panel but it's optional.  If you choose to do this it's 2" x 5 7/8".

Next you'll need a piece of paper that measures 2" x 5".  Take that piece and score it at 1/4" then at 1/2" and do the same at the other end like this:

Now you can finish decorating this piece how you like. I added some patterned paper and a piece of ribbon and at the end you'll also see I added some snowflakes.

Now adhere your double-sided tape to the first 1/4" at both ends.

Next attach your piece from above so you get this.  I then added 2 fabric roses because you won't hit them when you close the card.

After you've completed this piece don't adhere it quite yet.  Now you can tackle the front of the card because it's easier to lay it flat to finish the front.

Next adhere your coffee holder to the inside of the card.  Now this is where you'll notice the inside of my card changed from what my sister had to what I was working on.  I chose to emboss mine.

Next I've taken just a teeny piece of a glue dot and put it on the center of the pack of singles coffee from Starbucks then stuck it.  It's easy enough for the recipient to make a little tug and it will come out.  An optional idea is HERE where I tied on some nice Baker's Christmas twine to each packette.

And VOILA your finished product!!!  If you make one of these I would LOVE to see it!!

I hope I've worded this correctly enough for you to figure it out.  If not, that's why I added a ton of pictures.  LOL!

Check out Simone's coffee card too for some more ideas.

HAVE FUN!!
