Back to School Emo

So I actually did this card for a challenge and used their sketch.  Only problem was...it was last MAY!  BROL!!  OH MA GAWD I`m such a nerd!  I had bookmarked to this particular sketch challenge but linked the post I had seen that day and not the original blog.  ha ha ha!!  So now, I have no challenge for this.  I had spent some time looking for one, couldn`t find one and don`t care anymore.  LOL!  So today this is just a share card for your eyes.

My last Back to School Emo `Betty` card from Simply Betty Stamps`s new digi line.  These are just the cutest images!!!

I actually made an easel card!!  I popped up the little notebook sheets and same with the pencil.  Looks cool if I do say so myself!  :)

Stampin' For the Weekend Challenge

This is the first time I've entered into Stampin' For the Weekend challenge and although I didn't make the card on the weekend, I did color this  image on the weekend.  I'm sure it's not a requirement tho.  hee hee. This week's theme is "Anything Goes".  I did use the sketch from Cute Card Thursday but I was too late to enter that challenge.  DOH!

Isn't she a cutie?  This is "London" from the Back to School Emo digi line from Simply Betty Stamps.  She's a digi stamp and available now at SBS.  I love this color combo and have no idea why.  It's strange to me that it works.  LOL!

Lil Lolita Challenge #12

 A Sketch A Day...

Who doesn't love a sketch?!  Years ago a friend of mine, who we'll call her Laurel, introduced me to sketches and I've been hooked ever since!  It's very rare that I don't use one these days so it was great to see we had to use one for our next challenge at LLB!  Sorry for all the pink and black lately.  I just can't seem to get away from it.  Luuuuv the color combo!  Here's my card and sketch below:

Ya, I do realize my elements are backwards but Kellita is so tall and I just didn't want to change her.

I'm also entering my card in the challenge that
is sponsoring this week at
Haunted Design House

My card isn't exactly scary but
cute & scary works don't ya think?!  LOL!

Please check out the wonderful cards the DT made this week at LLB and join in the fun.  I challenge you to combine both of these challenges and would love to see your card!!  Let me know if you do!!  I'd gladly leave some lovin' on your blog!  :)

Stamps:  Tickled Pink Stamps "Kellita"
Paper:  TPC Studio "girlfriends phrases"
Embellishments:  Misc ribbon (thanks Debbie!!), Glow Skullz, Wild Orchid Craft flowers, Prima pearl swirls, CB web folder, and chandelier garland from 7kids College Fund.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

So I thought I would enter my first ever recipe challenge.  I've been scared of them before - lol!  And if once why not twice?

This first one is made using Simply Betty Stamps, Back To School Emo digi's "Rio", which are now available for purchase at the SBS website.  Isn't she a doll?

My recipe on this one is 3 alpha's, 2 border punch layers  and 1 flower bouquet.  For extra credit I added 4 green brads.  LOL!

This second one uses Simply Betty Stamps, Back To School Emo digi's "Miller", which are now available for purchase at the SBS website.  Isn't he a little nut?  You can't see it as well on the picture as you can IRL but the saying on the side says "Do I have a test tomorrow?"

My recipe on this one is 3 layers, 2 paper clips and 1 rockin' image.   For extra credit on this one I used 4 buttons.  hee hee  I never did this well in school.  LOL!!

There you have it!!  Stay tuned for more Back to School Emo's and for more samples of the new cards please view them at Simply Betty Stamps blog.  The blog hop was August 15th but if you'd like to take a gander at the other DT's cards the list is there.

Enjoy your last week of summer!!

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #11

I've used this image of Lilith (Tickled Pink Stamps) before but since she was holding the rose, I knew she had to be on this card.  She's one of my favorites and for some reason I can just hear her saying "What attitude" not really a question and all cool, calm and sarcastically oblivious.  Oh and I'm sure she'd appreciate the black rose on the card too.  hee hee.

If you enlarge the picture you might be able to see some Glossy Accents on it - it's suppose to look like dew drops.  I also added Glossy Accents to her headband, skull and rose.  Looks great....IRL.  LOL!!

Please don't forget to go and check
out the other ladies gorgeous creations

For more inspiration I used the sketch from
only I turned mine sideways.
Love them!!  THANKS!

The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #16

CHALLENGE #16 - VINCENT

When I first read our challenge for this week I was thinking WTH?!!  How and what am I going to come up with but after viewing the poem and then reading it again it was easy!!  Here you can read the POEM and here you can VIEW it.  It's 6 mins and if you do watch it, watch for a tree or something that I swear to goodness was used in Beetlejuice.  Tell me if you see it too.  So, I chose the 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence:

He doesn’t mind living with his sister, dog and cats
Though he’d rather share a home with spiders and bats
There he could reflect on the horrors he’s invented
And wander dark hallways, alone and tormented

Admittedly, many of us hadn't seen the video for this, but once we did, we were hooked! So this week's challenge is to take a paragraph from the poem and use it for the basis of your card or project.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

As a last minute decision, Betty of Simply Betty Stamps, has decided to donate half her proceeds of her sales to:

Now for something new... When I had my little Jude (21 months now) we were stuck down there for four weeks with his little premature issues! He was first released to us 9 days after his birth, we brought him home... and 2 days later he stopped breathing on us! It was the middle of the night, there was a snow blizzard and the paramedics couldn't get to us fast enough. Thank God my husband has EMT training! He brought him back after 3 minutes! Back to the NICU it was for us until about two days before Christmas! We were just so grateful as a family that we had this little bundle of joy for Christmas. It was long and trying to live in a hotel for the periods he was in the NICU. I live in the mountains and there are no Baby deliveries or facilities for special needs like ours. So, here is the reason for my long babble about my son's birth and the trials... I am expecting again, and have already started with a little bit of complications. However, all is well now and baby is healthy so far. As you can all imagine living in a hotel was expensive, there was a Ronald Mc Donald house nearby that would have helped us with housing for the period he was in the NICU but at the time they were all booked up. We were on the waiting list, but never got in. No worries though! I felt that the people in the Ronald Mc Donald house were in much more need than our family.

It's my turn to help and give back, I know they did not help us, but it was not because they didn't want to, when Jude was born there were 85 babies in the NICU!!! 85!! That was 85 families in need. I want to help, because I felt we were blessed with Jude and him over coming his issues. I also want to help just because... no reason needed right? So... here is what I would like to ask of all you wonderful ladies... I would like to make 100 sales... of course more is always welcome! 100 sales of all 6 new images with the discount of course, out of those sales I am going to give half, that's right half of the money from the sales to the Ronald Mc Donald house adjacent to the hospital where Jude was born, which is where this one will be born as well. And not because I want something back, but because the families that are there are in need. There were so many families that their babies didn't make it. It brought me to tears time after time to see empty beds a couple of days when I visited my baby while in their NICU. It seemed that almost every other day a baby was lost. It brought me to stop crying cause my baby was very healthy despite his episode! So, I hope this make sense to you all, and hope you can all help me give back a little to those in need. Thank you for reading my story and thank you for taking the time to make a purchase! Now onto happier times and a hippity hopping!

Your next stop will be
GLORIA, Creey Glowbugg!!
She's just plain friggin' awesome!

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #9

{If you are looking for the Kellita blog hop please scroll down}

BLING IT UP!!!

Wahoo!!  Ok, one of my favorites things to do is Bling It Up!!  I  adding stuff to my card and had a tough time putting down the bling and backing slowly away from my desk!!  This week I used 60s Hippie Willow from Tickled Pink Stamps the Lil Lolita Fashionette line.

FOR MY BLING I used Glitter Ritz around the edges of 3 of my layers, I also added a bunch of Stardust Stickles to all my flowers (if you click the pic bigger you might be able to see them better), I added chandelier garland and pearl pins, which I think are bling.  Tough to get Stickles to show up in the camera.  They don't like to cooperate.

So c'mon and check out all the details on the Lil Lolita Boutique challenge blog.

PRIZE ALERT!!  There is A WEEKLY Lil Lolita up for grabs so find out which one by also visiting the LLB blog

Please take a visit over to also see what wonderful blingage the DT has come up with this week.

The Boss Lady Blog Hop

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLIE!  Kellie is the boss lady of our Lil Lolita Boutique challenge blog, as well as owner of Tickled Pink Stamps and TPS challenge blog.   So, for her birthday we decided to have a special birthday blog hop for her.

The pink ladies of Tickled Pink Stamps, including international, have joined forces with Lil Lolita Boutique for this fun birthday hop day!

The gorgeous Debbie had an idea and approached Christine, the designer of our gorgeous Lolitas, and on the sly asked if she would design a KELLITA! Then Debbie let Kristy in on the secret and asked if she would like to help, of course Princess said yes! So together Debbie & Kristy sent pictures and ideas of what Kellita should look like....... So lets begin the hop so you can see our fabulous Kellita Birthday cards and join us in wishing Kellie a very happy birthday!

If you didn’t arrive from Jodie from Oz's blog then go back to the start at Debbie's blog and hop along with us.

The only stipulation on this card is (and maybe you've figured it out by now) we had to color her hair red.  I had so much fun with this card!!  I added gold Stickles to the borders and Wild Orchid flowers and used up some heart bauble garland that Jacque gave me in some blog candy awhile ago.  I'm not sure that Kellie's eyes are green but ..... well, today they are!  LOL!!!

Happy birthday Kellie!  I hope we all managed to pull this off without you finding out and I also hope my card made it to you on time!  Have a fabulous day!!

Now of course what is a hop
without prizes???

2 lucky commenters will get the chance to win this

SPECIAL EDITION KELLITA!!!

All you have to do is comment on each card. The winners will be announced on Wednesday the 11th August on the Tickled Pink Blog.

Next stop on the hop is Jackie Thomas!  She has some kick butt stuff and is one talented lady!!

****{Please note Kellita is a limited edition digi and is not for sale}

More Kellie Blog Candy

This blog candy will happen fast but I haven't had a chance to post it yet.  Kellie is giving this away for her birthday ON her birthday so if you're quick enough, get your name onto Mr. Linky!  Who can't use more Magnolia's in the rubber stamping collection?!!  Me for one!!  WOO!  Thanks for the chance Kellie!
