Faraway

When it's time for me to create my card the first thing I always do is always pick my image.  The second thing?  My papers and OH what beautiful papers they are from Polkadoodles, "Winnie, Once Upon a Time"  At this point, I know what colors I'm going to use so that's when I pick my coloring medium.  This time I've chosen to use my copics.  Well....I think they were feeling somewhat neglected as I could hear their little cries of abandonment.  Oops!!  LOL!!

After a few hours, she's finished!  I'm not the fastest colorist but I think it's because even after 10+ years of using them, I'm still not positive where my shadows go so for the most part, I just wing it. 😆  And picking my color combo's doesn't come naturally yet either so I have my trusty combo sheet right beside me.  I've decided to use this gorgeous Polkadoodles "Elegant Nest" die for her to sit atop.

Next, I create my layers and a few extra's but I wasn't quite sure yet how they would all fit in.  When I start a card I have no idea what it's going to look like when it's done so it's very much a pleasant surprise.  LOL!   They just kind of magically come together!  Are yours like that too?

Now here I've kind of planned on where I was going to place all of my layers.  It's a rather simple layout but I wanted the image and papers to come through.  I don't usually use sentiments on the front of my cards but I just happened to have a great 6 x 6 "Sentiment Paper Pack" from Polkadoodles that consists of 24 sheets of 96 sentiments!!!  WOW!!  So I die cut one of them using the "Posydoodles Tags" (also from PD) then cut a 2nd piece out of the design paper to layer underneath my sentiment.

Now here is when the really fun stuff comes in!!  EMBELLISHMENTS!!  I normally grab a handful of things I think I might use and end up using half of those and then another half I grab from my stash, or as I like to call it, "collection!"  hee hee   Seam binding or lace, always always flowers, sometimes chipboard, die cuts and gems!!  I always tell my husband if I were a fish I'd be never make it to old age.  The hook would come down all flashy like and OMG THERE'S SOME BLING!!! GULP!  Gone......yup.

It probably takes me a minimum of 2 hours to finish this part of the card after 2 hours of coloring so I'm kind of a slow crafter but I enjoy every minute of it!!  VOILA!

And here's the sweet digi Winnie Fairytale Faraway.

I knew I wanted to use a butterfly from the Polkadoodles "Butterfly Trio" and I ended up going for the medium-sized one.  I popped on a Tim Holtz nib and rose to finish it off.

And my last picture is just a share of my bouquet and a stunning gem I found in my stash, popped on top of a seam binding bow!

I hope you managed to stick through that as I think it's the longest post I've ever written but there have been a number of people asking me how I create my card.  My reply is normally "I don't know, it just happens"!  LOL!

Enjoy your weekend and keep it crafty!  💓

Hugs & Kisses

Hi there I'm back with another super cute Magnolia image from the Hugs & Kisses collection "Tulip Love Tilda".  I've paired her up with Maja Design's most recent paper collection "Denim and Girls".  Love it!!

I've added my usual ton of embellishments so if you have any questions please let me know.  I didn't get as many photo's as usual but probably because it was a "just for fun" card.

I hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Eulanda

Winnie - Hooray

Well I have some fun new news for you!!  Well ok maybe more for me but
(drumroll please)

I'M NOW ON THE POLKADOODLES design team!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really looking forward to playing with all the new things and promoting Nikky's amazing store and amazing products!!  You know I've been a fan of hers for awhile now so I'm super thrilled to have a spot on her team.  Thanks Nikky!!

Today is my first card but I'll be altering my format somewhat going forward.  I think it'll be fun for a change and I hope you like it.  You may even learn a little!!  😉

I've paired up Winnie - "Hooray" with Maja Design's gorgeous new papers "Denim and Girls".  As you can see here, under my image I've created a layer using Polkadoodles dies - "Fanciful Circles" and added a doily from my stash.  I love this set and will use it for many more cards as the sizing is nice and big and there are more pieces for variety!

Under my image layer I have some gorgeous Laserowe Love chipboard flourish pieces.  I will bring a tutorial to you in a future post showing how to use the shimmer Versamark and then heat the Ranger UltraThick embossing enamel (clear).  I heated it only halfway so it looks rather like raindrops.  Very cool look but a little hard to photograph.  LOL!

On the left edge of my card I've added a Scrapman border die, Laswerowe Love chipboard embossed flowers, then popped on some Wild Orchid leaves and roses to top it off.   I had some wooden butterfly embellishments in my stash so I painted one with gesso then adhered a couple of pearls to the center.

I've colored this little sweetie using my Prismacolor pencil crayons and listed all colors below my image.  That peach color was a challenge but matches perfectly with the Maja peach on their new papers and I'm sure you'll find some Polkadoodles papers such as "Just Smile" or "Butterfly Daisy" to match as well.

Prismacolors:

Shirt - Beige, Pumpkin Orange, Mineral Orange, Terra Cotta
Pants - Sky Blue Light, Blue Slate, Mediterranean Blue, Denim Blue
Sky - Sky Blue Light, Powder Blue, Periwinkle
Tree, Bushes and Grass - Pale Sage, Sap Green Light, Kelly Green, Olive Green
Pavement - Cool Grey 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%, 70%
Hair - Sand, Burnt Ochre, Light Umber, Chocolate
Tree - Ginger root, Chocolate, Light Umber, Dark Umber

I hope you've enjoyed my first post to Polkadoodles and continue to stay tune for more inspiration!
