Simple Stories "Handmade Holiday" Christmas Cards

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!  I love anything from Simple Stories but I will share more later about their way of creating albums and wow it's a whole lot faster than anything I've ever used!!

They also design gorgeous lines that make your scrapbooking faster but I'm here to show you how you can use the line for making some quick cards.  This weekend I made 6 cards by using 2 double-sided patterned papers and 1 page of stickers.  I am hoping to get 2 more out of what I have leftover so I think that's a good price for so many cards.  Also, I'm happy that I have made 6 cards in one weekend as normally I make only 1 because it's so detailed.  NO MORE!  Well, there will be a few but this year I don't want to DREAD card making so I'm going to simplify!  VOILA!!

A little hard to take pictures of glossy paper but it give you an idea.  :)

The only extra's I used from my stash were the cardstock, hemp twine, a little ribbon, some buttons, a bit 'o bling and a few punches.  That's it!!  Now I only have to make another 33 cards.  LOL!!  Oh well I have a good head start.  :)

Have a good week everyone!

Magnolia-licious Inspiration Challenge

Welcome back for another Magnolia-licious challenge!  This week we want to see you use your
BUTTONS!

I thought about going easy and just using the buttons as a couple of embellishments but when I decided to make my first Christmas card of the year, WELL!!!  This is what happened!  Ok I may have gone overboard with them but you don't have to.  Buttons anywhere and however many on your project will do.

Isn't this image just the cutest?!  Christmas Tilda w/Cat and they're part of a small "Little Christmas" collection expected in stock again Oct. 2nd from Magnolia-licious.

If you need any inspiration you can find LOTS at the Magnolia-licious challenge blog.  Also, Diana is giving away a "Surprise Gift" as a random prize,  RANDOM so you have as good of a chance as any others.  I love that!!

Annnnnd Diana has a sale going on and all mini sentiments are $2.99 so a great way to build up your mini-sentiment collection.  Or maybe think of it as stocking stuffers - for yourself!  LOL!!

Magnolia-licious - Color Inspiration

I'VE BEEN MAGNOLIA-LISCIOUS'ED!!!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!

Well I'm SUPER excited to be posting this and many more challenges with the design team from Magnolia-licious challenge blog.  It's such an honor to be amidst the boatloads of amazing talent this group has.  Thank you so much for inviting me!

Here is my first card as a DT member using the color inspiration photo.  I took a bit of everything from the image below.

Loved the flowers on the wallpaper so I added some gorgeous pink Wild Orchid flowers to make it pop.  My take on the challenge was the pink color, the flowers but also adding a bit of black.  I normally tend to steer clear of this color when it comes to my Maggie's but I just love the contrast.

You MUST check out all the other gorgeous creations over at the Magnolia-Licious challenge blog.  I'm sure you've seen some of these ladies designs before but my eyes just can't seem to get enough of them.  LOL!!

PRIZE!!  ---- Diana is so generous and always gives out a $25 gift certificate to her amazing Magnolia-licious store for EVERY challenge.   This is where I have bought probably 95% of my Maggie collection as well as some of her extensive collection of die products.  Huge selection of so many things!

Oh and did I mention you have 2 weeks to enter?  The challenge runs on the 2nd and last Tuesday of each month.  Tons of time right?  ;)

Diana has all kinds of specials going on:
The new Australian Collection available to preorder
The Little Christmas Collection
Turning Leaves Collection including mini's
The Mini Halloween/Autumn Collection

MagnoliaInk Magazine - 2012 Turning Leaves - I just want to mention that the prices of these magazines may be increasing so it might be a great idea to just get a subscription.  They are so full of inspiration and all kinds of wonderful eye candy gathered into one place and right at your fingertips.  Makes for handy reference.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting!

Smile

My SIL is leaving for another year of school today so I thought I'd put together a small care package for her.  This picture was a candid shot of us when we were camping July long weekend.  I'm sending it along with her so when she's having a bad day this might make her smile.  Even if it's only on the inside that's ok.

I made the ribbon flower and added a Tim Holtz button in the center.  Love that!

Here I made a shabby-chic doily flower using the Tim Holtz "Tattered Florals" die and this tutorial here only I used all 4 sized pieces and not just 2 of them as she's instructed.

I kinda wish this was mine.  LOL!!  I do have the same picture and it'll be interesting to see how that one turns out.

Hope you're all enjoying your long weekend!  Hugs!
