Whipper Snapper Christmas

I had actually used Sketch Saturday's sketch from last weekend for this card but missed the deadline and didn't want to post because my friend Cheri hadn't received it anyway.  I actually enjoyed coloring up this cute Whipper Snapper stamp.

Just a quick post cuz I'm at mom's for Christmas.  Woo hoo!!

Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends!  I wish the best to you and all your families and am looking forward to another wonderfully creative year!!  MWAH!

Sketch Saturday Week #134

I had actually colored this Mo Manning image a year ago and I can't believe how Copics do not fade.  I know it's one of the pro's about them but to actually see it is very cool!  Dang they are impressive!!  So I'm entering this into Sketch Saturday, now that it's intended recipient has it in her warm little house.  hee hee

The papers are Jovial from Basic Grey, the two bottom rows of lace are from my Secret Santa (SO COOL LOVE IT!! THANK YOU), Zva pearl swirls, Wild Orchid flowers, MS branch punch and misc buttons.

There are so many people I wanted to make cards for this year and just didn't get the chance but this is for hubby's aunt so thought "YAY I'm gonna incorporate a challenge!" SO I'm entering this into Tickled Pink Stamp Monthly Challenge using this sketch.

I was so happy with how it turned out! The challenge is a Christmas card and I used Tilda Holding Ornament stamp along with Bo Bunny papers. And don't ya just love those holly leaves? I cut those and my sentiment with my Silhouette. LUV THAT THING!

Christmas Chocolate

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge "A Time For Giving" has asked everyone to create anything but a card that you would give away.  I made a chocolate bar cover for a TBD challenge awhile ago and she loved it so has now asked me to make another one for her.  I think she's starting some kind of collection.  CUTE!

And she won't eat the chocolate cuz she says the wrapper is too nice.  YOU GUYS!  IT'S LINDT CHOCOLATE!!  I'm not sure how she's managed but so far it's still intact.

Stamps: Magnolia snowman stamp

Embellishments: Wild Orchid flowers, Stardust Stickles, Eva self-adhesive pearls and dollar store fringe ribbon.

Christmas Baskets

A few years ago I use to work for a company where suppliers would bring in huge gift baskets full of goodies at Christmas time.  These baskets were GORGEOUS!  I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away so I started making christmas baskets.  I have evolved into making them with battery-operated LED lights (thanks Sheri!!) and making them portable for parties or dinners elsewhere, where a plug-in may be tough to find.

Anyway, here are a couple I made this week.  They take me about 2 1/2hrs ... just as long as a card!!

Basket without lights on

Basket with lights on and unfortunately super blurry.  Sorry!!  And now the basket is gone of course.  LOL!

Basket #2

The pinecones I get from various yards and by the time I'm done, these cost me about $15 to make.  They are great for gifts!!

Animals

You know I never picture myself to be one of those people who get all gooey over an animal.  Sure we had animals growing up but I'm allergic to almost everything...ALMOST everything UNTIL......I bought RAFFERTY.  He's a Siberian cat (hence the pointed ears) and he's hypoallergenic.  (Is that the right word for no allergies?)  ANYWAY,  I just HAVE to share some cutie patootie moments of my goofy cat.  Oh my gawd I can't believe I'm doing this!!!

Still trying to figure out my Corel Paint program - so strange cuz it looks really sharp and focused on my program then I put it on my blog and it looks like I have no idea how to take a picture!!  Anyway, you get it.  LOL!

How easy do you find it to do something when someone is watching you?!!  Suttle.

OMG OMG OMG THAT IS JUST SO STINKIN' CUTE!

Well...I hope to have some cards up this weekend.  WOOHOO!!  Love XMAS!!!   Enjoy your weekend y'all!

Simply Betty New Releases

SWEET GOTHIC WORLD KIDS

Say hello to:

Judy, Sally, Wednesday, Tilly, Alex, and Scott

Now available at Simply Betty Stamps

I chose to play with Wednesday.
Don't ya just love her sass?

You MUST check out all the other DT's cards at Simply Betty Challenges.  HOLI COW THEY ROCKED THESE IMAGES!

I'm also entering this card into Friday Sketchers #129 and I think this is one of the first times I never layered each of my layers.  The sketch was so full of layers already that I finally realized my card might not need it.  It did however, need the saying GIVE?  AWAY?!! but I was too lazy.  Isn't that awful?  LOL!

Simply Betty Stamp - London

I was just playin' around a few weeks ago and colored up this image but let it sit for awhile.  I have this habit of printing my images far too big and wasn't sure what to do with her so I figured I only needed a few cute embellies and VOILA!  Fini!!

I just love the flowers and am sure they are the American Crafts blossoms.   I took some Maya chipboard snowflakes and add some pink ink and Stickles over top.

Just Because

Over the past few months, while heading to my craft room, hubby has jokingly asked if I was going to make a card for him.  Not sure if he was really joking or not so I decided it's probably time and maybe I should make him one.  For no reason but just because.  I know some of you have seen me use Heidi before but here she is again.   I put Liquid Applique on the foam and also Glossy Accents on the beer mug.  It's quite refreshing!!!  LOL!!

Also found this neatest embossed felt to do the CHEERS sentiment with.   A little fun for no reason.............just because.  :)

Sketch Saturday #129

Had to join up in Sketch Saturday's challenge this week and pair it up with this lovely fellow from Dustin Pike's collection.  Isn't he hilarious?!  I laughed out loud the first time I saw him.  EGADS was certainly not the first sentiment that came to mind but I wasn't sure of the recipient so figured I better keep it PG rated.  LOL!!

I turned the sketch upside down, which is probably how the toads world is going anyway.  LOL!

I haven't put anything inside the card yet but have lots of ideas in my head.  If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!!   Thanks!

Dishwasher Magnets

Aren't these the cutest?!!  I saw one on Silhouette America, although it was a bit different then this, and thought I MUST make that!  I decided to put the ribbon on for a bit of a handle.  I find when I try to grab a magnet off the fridge and don't have nails, it's somewhat difficult.  So, you just yank on the ribbon, off pops the magnet and turn it around accordingly.  APPARENTLY some people I live with (hubby & the cat but I won't say which one) doesn't want to take the time to see if there is dirty or clean dishes in the dishwasher.  LOL!!  Well I'd like to make it as easy as possible for the dishes to go IN TO the dishwasher.

I used my biggest nestibilites for both magnets.  The top magnet has Bo Bunny paper and the bottom magnet has vinyl and both are covered with lace snowflake flocked vinyl I cut with my Silhouette.  Then I added the finishing touches!  VOILA!

Sassy Cheryl's

So I thought I discovered a cheater way of making christmas cards.  Visit Sassy Cheryl's and HOLI COW you can find all kinds of already colored images!  But I discovered that it takes me just as long to actually MAKE the card especially when I do crap like this.  Well, not to say it's crap it's just ..... well.....did you know making gorgeous simple cards is a talent all by itself?  Ya, I didn't possess that one.  Me and my freakin' embellishments!!  Jeeps!  But I like them anyway.

This image is called Single Box Top Snowmen.  Aren't they fun?

Friday Sketchers #128

Well not much to say about this card other then that I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers below.  I LOVE that they have a sketch a week!!!  I did turn this sketch sideways to try to fit my image.

I did add 2 rows of pine borders to follow the sketch but added another row of Barbara Trombley's Elements "Earth Textures - Roots" to give it a more woodsey feel.  Is that a word?

SBC #6 - Thanksgiving Place Cards

So our challenge this week at Simply Betty Challenges, is place cards.  Thanksgiving place cards that is.  Now here in Canada our Thanksgiving has been over for about a month BUT I still really enjoyed making this little cutie!

I used SBS "Thanksgiving Jude" digi image.  ha ha ha FEATHERS?  REALLY?!  Oh ya, that was so funny.  I adhered them once but came to my scraproom to find them on the floor slightly chewed on.  Cat!  Bugger!  I did a mini-easel, added a little rafia, an image and a few feathers and VOILA!  DONE!

I hope you can join us this week at SBC and please check out what the DT's did this week. Leave some luvin' if you have time.  Oh and don't forget there is always a prize!

Stamps: SBS Thanksgiving Jude
Paper:
Embellishments: Raffia, misc button and dollar store feathers.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Snowflakes/snow
High Hopes - image and buttons!

HA HA HA don't ya just love this image?!  And being a Canadian I just HAD to get the "eh?" in there somewhere!  Of course  the lil beaver asked if Mudzie was okay first, to which Mudzie replied "Yeth" and THEN the lil beaver broke out in hysterics!!  BROL!!  True friend!

[click for larger pic]
Seems you can't see the wonderful glitter buttons as much as you can IRL.  There are 3 of them and all on top of the chipboard snowflakes but I think you can see the Twinkletts for snow.  Is that Tim Holtz punch not the funnest?!!  OMG thanks so much to a great friend!!  :)

Attitude Award

Apparently a number of people think I have attitude.  WTF?!!

Thanks to my creepy friend Gloria
My Canadian friend Nicole and
Carol my Granny friend
but ALLLL wonderful card creators, among other things!!

Before passing this on, one of the rules is you have to tell people 3 unknown facts about yourself soooooo:

1) I can't drink coffee with caffeine.  I know, then it's not coffee.

2) I try not to let the different foods on my plate touch before I eat it.  That's gross ... but my sister is like that too.  LOL!

3) I hate being awake after my husband goes to bed so I go the same time he does.  Makes me feel really lonely.  I know....odd for many of you who find that's when your making your cards is when hubby has hit the hay.

Now I get to pass this along to 5 more people with attitude:
1) Cheri

Ummmm apparently I have mostly only friends that start with a "C".  WHAT?!!

Kitty Food

As a number of you know, I recently acquired the Silhouette for my birthday.  I just LOVE this thing!!  I took these pics, which OMG it's hard to take a picture of glass that you've etched, so I hope you get the idea.  I bought this ginormous glass jar from Walmart for $20 and it holds about 8kgs of cat food.  The lid is big enough for Rafferty's bowl to fit right in and scoop out food.

SO!!  I put kitty tracks around the whole outside of the jar and wrote KITTY FOOD on the front.  I later discovered that maybe I should have left the etching cream on for longer and more then what the bottle said.  1 minute my a--.  And also that maybe I should have just stuck vinyl to this project using a brighter color cuz now when I put cat food in it, you can hardly see the etching.  Oh well!  Lesson learned but I was still happy with the outcome for my first time.

Happy Birthday Barb

Sooo I thought I would give Meljens challenge a shot but I'm not sure if I accomplished the requirements but in MY mind I did.  hee hee

I made a bday card for Aunt Barb and the challenge is to use 3 different shapes.  I've used a rectangle for the card, the sentiment is a shape all in itself and I was hoping my CUPCAKES made the 3rd shape.  Whaddya think?!  I 3'd my HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment, which I got from ma new Silhouette machine.  Have I told you how much I love that thing?!  OMG I can't believe I haven't bought one sooner!!  Apparently my enabling friends weren't as enabling as they normally are.  LOL!!!

I stickled my cupcakes but OMG I forgot to put something on the inside about her being an original.  That's what the outside pink cupcake was all about!!  Oi vey!!!  Oh well, she loved it.

Stamps:  Meljens "Triple Treat Cupcakes"
Papers: Basic Grey (don't remember the name)
Embellishments: Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and Stickles.  WHAT?!  REALLY?!  OMG!

TRICK OR TREATING WITH TIDDLY INKS AND SIMPLY BETTY STAMPS

This is one big collision of a group of truly talented ladies and I'm so glad to be a part of this hop.  If you've come here from Donna's blog "Popsicle Toes" you are on the right track.  And isn't her work something else?!!  If you would like to start at the beginning go back to Christy's blog "Tiddly Inks".

The ladies at Simply Betty Stamps are using Tiddly Inks images and vice versa.  I chose to use 3 TI images:  Betty Belfrey, Cast Your Spell and Door of Spook.  All images are colored with Copics.

The trick on my project is the door - HOW CUTE IS THAT?!
If you open it very slowly,
TADA!!!!

It's Betty Belfrey throwing around her glittery spells!!

Now for my treat, I am offering this rubber stamp from Magnolia.
"Haunted House"
I will draw the winner November 1st!!!

What's a blog hop without a challenge and more prizes?  Check out all the details at Christy's blog Tiddly Inks or Betty's blog at Simply Betty Stamps for more information.

Now hop along and you may find some more treats today!!  Your next stop is Jennifer at Wanna Be Creative!
